RHODES HOUSE
St James
From
R3,800 p/n
8 guests ・4 bedrooms ・6 beds ・3 baths
DESCRIPTION
As published in both Elle decor India and Home magazine ZA, this 170-yr old stone cottage is not only a National Monument but also expertly been stripped down to the bare essentials, highlighting the original features and craftsmanship. The house is right next to the St James coastal path walk and a short walk to the picturesque St James beach, Muizenberg beach (a world renown beginner and longboard surf destination) Dangers beach and Kalkbay reef, both for the more advanced surfers.

The entire house is for guests to use. It includes an outside braai area and undercover, outdoor dining room. We have two indoor wood burn fireplaces, one in the kitchen and one in the master bedroom. In summer, enjoy the outside porches and deck overlooking the ocean. During the months of September to November, expect to see whales and on a wind still night, you might even hear them.. All the bedrooms have ocean views. Stone baths, copper sanitary ware and an outside shower make bath time memorable while organic silk duvet inners and pillows, organic latex mattresses and 100% linen covers allow for a restorative night. Security perimeter beams, an electric fence, solid teak shutters and a wrought iron gate add to the security and sense of enclosure.
